Ten tables that Queens keeps coming back to, and nearly all of them are built for a crowded table rather than a solo plate. Park Side Restaurant has held its Corona corner for decades with tuxedoed service and southern Italian platters; Asian Jewels rolls dim sum carts through a chandeliered Flushing banquet hall; Don Peppe still sends out family-style platters in Ozone Park and still takes cash only. Casa Enrique keeps a small Long Island City room built around a Chiapas mole.

For a big group the architecture is already there: round tables and shared platters at Don Peppe, the banquet hall at Asian Jewels, and the separate rooms at Park Side Restaurant that hold three generations. With children, Manetta’s Ristorante has a brick oven that ends every negotiation. For two, Casa Enrique and Bruno keep the lighting low, and Bruno comes with its own parking lot; Cafe Premiata is the one with outdoor tables in warmer months. Sunday works across the whole list.
Know the edges of this selection. No live music or on-stage program appears anywhere in it, nothing opens early for breakfast and nothing runs around the clock; only Don Peppe stops short of the late evening, and the two kosher kitchens close for Shabbat.
