The Story

Bruno Rinaldi is Howard Beach restaurant royalty: co-owner of the much-missed Carosello before opening the ristorante that bears his name. The menu he built reaches straight into southern Italy — rustic, generous, reminiscent of the old country — and the room he runs treats hospitality as a craft learned over a lifetime, not a script.

Buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto di Parma sets the tone; calamari arrabbiata and mussels in white wine keep the starters honest.
