Her parents were owners of a large knitwear factory. From her childhood, Ann had a knack for studying mathematics. Unfortunately, one day it disappeared because of an unpleasant incident with a math teacher who made fun of her questions about universality in front of her classmates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ann graduated with honors from school and entered New York University, where she studied for 3 years. This period turned out to be catastrophic for Ann because she couldn\u2019t make friends at the university and she constantly got ridiculed. Thus, the girl left the study unable to withstand the group mates\u2019 pressure. She took up self-education and got interested in science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ann Druyan&#8217;s career<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.queenska.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/60\/2023\/03\/img_641850e41631b.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the fact that she didn\u2019t graduate, the woman continued her self-education. In the late 1970s, she became the creative director of NASA&#8217;s Voyager Interstellar Message Project. She worked with a team to create a complex message that included music and images for alien civilizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The phonogram records developed by Druyan and her team were attached to the Voyager-1 and Voyager-2 spacecraft, which traveled beyond the outermost planets of the solar system. One of them even went into interstellar space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1979, Druyan began working with Carl Sagan, the PBS channel TV host, on the creation of the docuseries <em>Cosmos<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their series has been shown on TV for 30 days. Scientists covered a lot of topics, such as the origin of human life and the place of humanity in the universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series turned out to be extremely fascinating. It received wide recognition and became the most popular docuseries in the history of American public television. <em>Cosmos<\/em> received the Emmy and Peabody Awards and, after that, it was broadcasted in more than 60 countries around the globe with more than 100 million viewers. Later, a book was published on the basis of the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1997, Druyan presented her first novel, <em>A Famous Broken Heart<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Development of Ann Druyan&#8217;s creative activity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The most active year for Druyan&#8217;s career growth was 2000 when she and Steven Soter became co-authors of the <em>Passport to the Universe <\/em>book. The same year, she became a co-author of <em>Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors: A Search for Who We Are<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In mid-2000, Ann and Joseph Firmage founded Cosmos Studios. As CEO of Cosmos Studios, Ann created various scientific and entertainment programs, which were broadcasted on radio and TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March 2000, Druyan became the executive producer and screenwriter of the film <em>Cosmos: Possible Worlds<\/em>, which premiered on the National Geographic TV channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2005, Druyan became a member of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims for the Paranormal and a director of the first solar-sail deep-space mission Cosmos-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2006, Ann served as President on the Board of Directors of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of 2011, Druyan became the executive producer and co-scriptwriter for the sequel of the series <em>Cosmos: a Spacetime Odyssey<\/em>, which premiered on the Fox and National Geographic TV channels.
